Don't forget that Red Herring Theatre Company are holding further auditions for Rope by Patrick Hamilton on Thursday 28th November at 7.30pm at The Friends' Meeting House, Pakefield Street, Lowestoft (between The Trowel and Hammer and The Jolly Sailors).
For the mere sake of adventure, the danger, and the fun of it – Wyndham Brandon persuades his weak minded friend, Charles Granillo, to assist him in the murder of a a perfectly harmless fellow undergraduate. They place his lifeless body in a wooden chest, and to add spice to their handiwork, invite a few acquaintances, including the dead youth's parent. Loosely on the Leopold and Loeb murder case in 1924, Patrick Hamilton’s Rope remains a highly entertaining play some 90+ years after it was written.
